I started hubpages as a facility to better network my creative writing, but in no way do I write for a monetary incentive. I write for its aesthetic purpose. I have been writing since I was child, but I do not consider this an affinity in any way shape or form. I consider this constant necessity to write a malison; only artists suffer from the vague enigma of their soul, one that cannot be stilled with common medication. Only art. Only literature. Only self-release and disclosure. As a child, I suffered from night terrors, which is a more severe form of nightmares found to be a heritable trait. I started writing typically as a way to escape to from these nightmares. Writing has become my passion since, and I have made it my life's dream to become a published writer.
Here, you will find a mess of prose and unpublished works.
Lilies and Lamentation is a novella that is a work in progress. It is a fictional story about a long distance relationship between a man cursed by his mother's principles instilled in him at a very young age and a woman who is diagnosed with a condition that has her life a thin thread. Both decide to engage in a courteous rendezvous that blossoms into a intangible friendship that stretches from the harbors of San Francisco Bay to New York City. It is not long until friendship evolves ardently into passion and passion into love.
Noyade is one of my more known pieces in my other networking sites. It is a short story that is completely unconventional in its syntax and diction combined. Many have read Noyade in one sitting, being that is only 30 pages in length (with some chapters no more than five words), and Noyade is the short story I have received most feedback from. It is a story of agony and love and hamartia. It is about a young woman and a young man, both community college students, that meet fatalistically and eventually become companions. Noyade stands for "a death by drowning", and is utilized more as a metaphorical than literal sense. The short story is journalistic in nature, a narrative from the point of view of the main protaganist who remains unnamed. Noyade and the main protagnist grow fondly of each other, meeting together in frequent trysts to better understand the other. Their curiosities inevitably lead them into a whirlwind of emotions and sudden trials, one question mark at a time.
Ananda's Elephantine is for my last love and is completely metaphorical in its nature. Its writing style is similar to Noyade, unconventional. It is the journal of a young man who is a paladin in his country, using his literary skills to combat a totalitarian regime, one that has eliminated any trace of the arts and aesthetics as a way to maintain world order. Ananda is a young woman in love with books, a crime punishable by death. The main protaganist here tries to recruit Ananda into his resistance, a writer that has influenced mass majorities of people by writing stories and selling them through black market facilities. Both of these young pilgrims eventually become impassioned by the other, but a conscience bewilders them as they realize that one must remain hidden perpetually in safehouses and coves while the other must maintain a civil lifestyle under the regime.
I post occassionally excerpts and analectas from my first novella, "if", which is my second most popular story on my other networking sites, but only occasionally.
You will find a myriad of words here. My hubpages is a mess, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
I go by the nom de plume, Bedlam, a name I take into my heart and is tattooed on my chest as a symbol of mental chaos; a voice that can never be stilled.
I hope you enjoy anything you read here and I hope to read the published works of all of you here at hubpages.
